Nomination
Field, British Columbia Communities

Field, British Columbia was established during the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway and was given its name by the CPR in December of 1884. In its history, it has been a hub for the Canadian Pacific Railway as a locomotive depot for engines that would assist in pushing trains across the great divide (The Field Hill and the Big Hill).

Today, Field is still an important railway town and hub for Canadian Pacific. A number of historic structures exist dating back to the late 1800’s that are associated with the railway. Further, it is the closest town to the historic spiral tunnels that have assisted in overcoming the challenges of The Field Hill and the Big Hill.

I can provide additional details if you wish.
