As of 2009-2010, Bryan has succeeded in his environmental efforts to clean up railway tracks from passenger rail raw sewage. Its not a glamour subject yet it threatend the public every day it continued on. In 2006 Via finally had all tanks installed on trains after a ten year political fight at all levels.
Last weekend the headlines in the Burnaby Now newspaper were about Bryan continuing his effort and succeeding. Much of his undertaking is saving the biggest lake in the Lower mainland of Vancouver, Burnaby Lake. He was a former employee of both CN and Via Rail and made the repulsive working conditions end and worked with many others in the public to save tne lake Via Rail dumped their sewage on the foreshore for years. It si now being dredged and will be an Olympic rowing course and a regional park we can develop again.
It is on Bryans Facebbook. See Burnaby City Council minutes of October 2009 forhis speech repairing the damage Via rail contributed too since its start.
